Edward Bovill
Ed Bovill was born in Banbury, Oxfordshire and grew up in several small villages in the area. He attended Durham University and graduated in 2009 with a Masters in Physics, MPhys. From his second year he specialised in Condensed Matter Physics, and his Masters project focused on the electrical properties of Quantum Tunneling Composite, QTC.
A passion for Eco-friendly technologies and policy spurred him to further his education in this area with the E-Futures Doctoral Training Centre (DTC). During his first year in the DTC he became particularly interested in organic photovoltaics and decided to pursue a PhD in the area. His PhD focuses on the air stability of OPVs and the final goal is to fabricate OPVs in air with no loss in efficiency.
Interests outside academia include a passion for all things outdoors, including Bouldering, Hiking and Mountain Biking. Other interests include cooking, reading, films, comedy and pub quizzes.
